A chilean RUT is a unique identification number assigned to each chilean citizen and resident. It is used for tax purposes, voting, and other government-related activities. The RUT is composed of a body and a verifier digit, separated by a hyphen. The body is a sequence of numbers, and the verifier is a single digit or the letter 'K'. The RUT is formatted as 'XX.XXX.XXX-Y'.

A chilean TIN is a Tax Identification Number, it is just another equivalent acronym for the RUT (Rol Único Tributario).
